MSSA cores with rectangular hysteresis loop

MSSA cores with rectangular hysteresis loop made of thin (25 µm) Co-based amorphous ribbon are traditionally considered to the best products for using in chokes of magnetic amplifiers.

чип In most multi-channel power supplies only a single output voltage is regulated by the overall feedback loop from the output of this channel to PWM controller. The dynamic properties of other channels are much worse as they depend on each other. For independent channel voltage regulation additional adjustment methods are used. Conventional linear regulators reduce the efficiency and are acceptable only for small output currents. Electronic regulators are more effective but also more bulky due to greater number of components and thus are less reliable and more expensive.

The application of magnetic amplifiers is a cheap, effective and reliable solution in case of such problems. This approach allows to reach easily the efficiency level of 90% at switching frequencies up to 300 kHz and also facilitates the equipment miniaturization.

Configuration: Ribbon wound core is placed into a rigid protective container made of glass-filled polyamide and mechanically fixed with silicone sealant. The container has rounded edges and is designed for direct application of the winding with a thick wire. The container provides a reliable mechanical protection of amorphous material and preservation of its properties. All materials comply with UL94V-1 / 0.

MSSA cores are successfully applied in: magnetic amplifiers for switching mode power supplies, magnetic amplifiers for DC/DC converters, computer power sources, pulse transformers, saturable transformers for oscillators, etc. saturation devices, etc..
