Magnetics Inc. issues 12 standard sizes of U configuration that are made of Kool Mμ powder material and are intended for a use as magnetic circuits of chokes operating with high values of electric current. U-configured cores are made of Kool Mμ material which has a permeability of 26μ, 40μ , 60μ, 90μ and is characterized by low losses and by values of magnetostriction that approach to zero. In contrast to ferrite materials and to cores based on silicon steel, Kool Mμ cores do not lose their parameters at high temperatures exceeding 200°C.
