trimmersTrimmer capacitors are among important elements of modern electronic devices. They are widely used in measuring equipment and other devices. The capacitance of this electronic parts can be changed freely. The possiblity to fix the capacitance only at tuning leads to simplifiing of construction and decreasing of tuning cycles quantity. In such a way such components can be used for professional applications in areas like telecommunications, medical instrumentation, defense and manufacturing. They support a wide range of capacity, voltage and temperature coefficients. Various mechanical solutions are offered via different types of dielectric material:
  • air
  • sapphire
  • ceramic
The main technical characteristics are:
  • C min, max -minimal and maximum capacitance (F)
  • U - Withstanding voltage (V)
  • ТКЕ - Temp. Coeff. (ppm/°С)
  • Q - Q factor

The construction of trimmers is characterised by functions of device. Applied mounting methods should provide mechanical strength, reliable electrical contacts.

Joining Exxelia Group in 2012, Exxelia Temex (ex Temex Ceramics) is specialized in the design and manufacture of a broad range of radiofrequency and microwave passive electronic components and ceramic capacitors. Exxelia Temex started business in 1971 at Pessac near Bordeaux in south-west France, producing frequency-adjustable components and ceramic capacitors. The business was expanded in 1988 by the external acquisition of ferrite and dielectric materials. Over the last 35 years, the company has strengthened and streamlined its product range to focus on three core lines:

ceramictrimmer Ceramic dielectric capacitors enable a wide range of combinations in terms of range of capacitance, voltage and temperature coefficient, and also in the supported assembly methods: “Thin-Trim ®, Ceratrim ®, Chip TRIM ® are extensively used for trimming circuits that require a high level of stability. Most of these components are SMD and are delivered on tape. Non-magnetic versions are also available. Particularly, SMD trimmer capacitors (AT2320G, AT 9401G, AT 9402G, AT 9410G, AT 0300/AT1300) represent components applied in electrical circuits, where size and technical performance are key characteristics. For example, encapsulated series of trimmers with aluminum case is characterised by stability to severe conditions, mechanical and electrical strength. The construction of a capacitor's case protects it from penetration into the device. The working frequency range varies up to 2 GHz.Miniature trimmer capacitors are characterised by high Q factor, stability of electrical characteristics during all useful life. gigatrimmer The series of components with air dielectric (AT 5200, AT 5400, AT 5500 , AT 5600, AT 5700, AT 5800 and others) were especially developed by Temex-Ceramics for application in microwave devices. The Using of air as a dielectric allows to create easy constructions with improved electrical characteristics (small values of dissipation factor, small values of ТКЕ, stability of capacitance), that allows to use them in quartz resonators, filters, mobile radiodevices, locators, CATV.
